DETROIT (WWJ) – Detroit police are investigating after a woman was found dead in the driver’s seat of an SUV found parked on Detroit’s west side Monday morning.

Detroit Police officer Adam Madera say the woman, believed to be around 40 years old, had trauma to both her face and neck, including abrasions and apparent knife wounds. Her body was discovered just before 10 a.m.

Neighbors living in the area where the woman was found — on the 8200 block of Piedmont, near Tireman and Evergreen — told investigators they didn’t recognize the victim’s vehicle.

The woman was not immediately identified.

No arrests have been made. Police said the death is being investigated as a homicide.
