DETROIT (WWJ) — Detroit Police said that a 29-year-old man is in custody after allegedly shooting two victims on the city’s East Side.

Officers responded to shots fired near Harper and Outer Drive around 2 a.m. on Saturday. They discovered one victim lying in the middle of Whittier street.

A second victim — walking in the neighborhood — was also shot. The suspect was caught a few blocks away after officers observed him throwing a handgun under a parked car.
