61-Year-Old 'Exercise Bandit' Attempts To Set World Record [VIDEO]

ROMULUS (WWJ) --The self-proclaimed "Exercise Bandit" made a Guinness World Record Book attempt by doing 22 push ups in 30 seconds, while grasping a raw egg in each hand and balancing another on a spoon in his mouth while a 40 pound weight sat on his back on Monday.

Albert Harper, 61,  never broke character as he appeared at Summit Middle School in Romulus with bright lime green pants, knee pads, a t-shirt reading "EB" and goofy sunglasses. 7th grader, Sarah Miles, was impressed.

"That's pretty cool," Miles said. "It shows that he's fit and how he can stay health at that age."

Harper has set Guinness World Records for most push ups on one finger on a brick and ripping up the most phone books.

"It's a challenge and I love challenges," Harper said. "Every kid that's in this gym -- I'm going to show them something that they've never seen before. My life is about excitement -- I don't do too much talking, I'm a man of action."

Harper completed his task without breaking any of the eggs and now the video will now be submitted to Guinness World Record Books for consideration.
