PONTIAC (WWJ) – Police say an elderly woman was killed when her motorcycle was struck by a vehicle that turned in front of oncoming traffic in Oakland County.

The accident happened just after 9 a.m. Tuesday on Baldwin Road and Newport Avenue, north of East Walton Boulevard in Pontiac.

Oakland County Sheriff’s investigators said the 78-year-old Pontiac woman was apparently traveling southbound on Baldwin Road when a car turned left in front of her, causing the crash.

When police arrived on the scene, they found both the woman and her motorcycle underneath the car.

The woman, whose name was not immediately released, was pronounced dead at the scene.

The other driver, a 46-year-old Westland woman, was uninjured.

The crash remains under investigation.
