Detroit Cheerleader's Toilet Paper Wedding Dress Charms

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the final day of voting for a Detroit Pistons cheerleader who is trying to two-ply her way to $10,000.
A wedding dress made of just toilet paper...sounds awful right? But not when you see the creation by Susan Brennan from Orchard Lake, who has entered the Cheap Chic Toilet Paper Wedding Dress contest by Charmin for the fourth year in a row.
Brennan won twice before, is hoping to bring home the prize again this year, the $10-thousand dollar prize.
"It's kind of got this lace-looking top, lots of beading. And then it's got a kind of "princessy" long skirt, but then you can take it off and there's a short little fringe shirt underneath it for dancing," Brennan told WWJ Newsradio 950's Zahra Huber.
Those beads by the way, are made from toilet paper — since that's all contestants could use besides tape, glue, and a needle and thread.
It took Brennan a month to make the dress and she used 17 ultra soft two-ply rolls of Charmin. The winners will be announced Thursday at a hotel in New York. Models will show off the contestants' dresses on a runway before the results are announced.
Brennan says she hopes the models don't wear the dresses too long "because they are made out of toilet paper, and not sturdy fabric."
