MIS Revs Up Wireless, Mobile Efforts for Race Weekend

By Edward Cardenas

BROOKLYN, MI (CBSDetroit.com) - NASCAR race fans heading to the Quicken Loans 400 will have better connectivity - and the ability to find their car - at Michigan International Speedway through wireless and mobile enhancements.

Track officials have expanded the number of free Wi-Fi hot spots at the facility from six to 11 this year.

"We're thrilled to continue bringing more technology to our guests with free Wi-Fi," MIS President Roger Curtis said in a release. "Sharing experiences and being able to stay connected at the track is an important part of the guest experience in any sport, but certainly in NASCAR."

The free Wi-Fi can be accessed through all cell phone carriers. The hot spots at Michigan International Speedway are:

  • MISCamping.com Turn 2 Retreat
  • MISCamping.com APEX Camping
  • Budweiser Party Porch
  • Champions Club presented by CP Federal Credit Union
  • Skylounge Suites
  • Pit Patio
  • New Holland Fan Plaza at the speedway's "Welcome Center"
  • Four hotspots in the MISCamping.com Infield.

Race fans can also download the Discover MIS mobile app with features including GPS capabilities to help attendees at the race locate their cars, find the nearest ATM or bathroom, schedule of driver appearances and locations of merchandise haulers.
