'Driver Fatigue' May Have Played Into Accident Shutting Down I-94

ROMULUS (WWJ) -- A truck driver is in critical condition after a garbage truck he was driving collided with the back of a semi-truck on eastbound I-94 near Wayne Road in Romulus on Monday afternoon.

The driver is a 43-year-old man from Inkster.  He was airlifted to the University of Michigan Medical Center -- in critical condition -- after he was trapped in the truck's cab.

The driver of the semi-truck was not hurt.

Police say "driver fatigue" may have contributed to the accident.
