Everyone has World Cup fever — and even Tigers starting pitcher Justin Verlander tried to show off his skills over the weekend.

In the third inning against the Cleveland Indians on Saturday night, Indians SS Asdrubal Cabrera dropped a perfect bunt down the third base line. The ball was bunted so perfectly it came to a complete stop and that’s when Verlander kicked over the top of the ball, which actually made it move a little bit.

The announcers joked, “I guess Justin’s been watching the World Cup.”

Even Verlander took part in the joke via his Instagram:

Did you think Verlander was actually trying to kick the ball?
