MUSKEGON (WWJ/AP) – A 19-year-old man is dead after being pulled from a western Michigan lake where he had been swimming with friends.
The tragedy took place on the waters of Muskegon Lake Saturday night after divers discovered the body of missing swimmer Darren Raby.
The search mission took less than 15 minutes according to officials.
Muskegon Public Safety Director Jeffrey Lewis said the teen’s friends lost sight of the 19-year-old around dusk.
The victim was pulled from about 22 feet of water — Raby’s family is hoping an autopsy may help provide additional information on their son’s drowning.
