CBS DETROIT – Texas Rangers third baseman Adrian Beltre smacked his 2,500th hit Tuesday, and Detroit Tigers first baseman Miguel Cabrera – after handing Beltre the ball and giving him a quick hug as the crowd applauded – congratulated Beltre with a playful little move that Beltre is known to dislike. Of course, Beltre retaliated a little later.
It was not the first time Cabrera had messed with Beltre. He had pulled the exact same stunt about a month earlier.
The Tigers got the better of the Rangers, 8-2, in the first game of the three-game series.
