I get it…not everybody is into the World Cup.

Despite the excitement of Team USA’s first two games, there are Americans that refuse to get amped about today’s game against Germany and the prospect of the Americans making a run. This group of people just doesn’t care, which is fine.

And then there is the rest of the country.

If you won’t watch today then this blog is not for you, however if you can’t wait until noon, then you might be interested in the following.

Major League baseball and the MLB shop has given fans a chance to root for the Detroit Tigers while making it known that you want Team USA to make a run in the World Cup as well. Prices differ but fans can buy a Miguel Cabrera jersey with American flag type stars imbedded in blue numbers. They can purchase hats with the ole English D in a patriotic star. And they can buy an assortment of tee shirts pimping a Tigers logo with the Red, White and Blue being displayed proudly.

To be honest, there is some merchandise for sale that I wouldn’t be caught dead in however there is also some stuff that I totally would rock.

The chances of the USA inspired clothing reaching you before the USA-Germany game this afternoon are none, but you could be rocking the gear before probable elimination games next week.

Of course if the league wants the fans to buy this stuff, it would be nice if they made their players wear it on game days. I have seen firsthand that Tigers players are enjoying the World Cup; so why not rock Team USA colors when the soccer team plays?

Sounds like a fantastic idea! Doesn’t it?

Let me know… Do you like the gear? Will you buy it? Do you care about the World Cup?
