Bird Hit By Pitch In West Michigan Whitecaps Game [VIDEO]

By: Evan Jankens

I wish I could say no birds were harmed in the creation of this blog — but that would be a lie. During a minor league game between the West Michigan Whitecaps and the Fort Wayne TinCaps a bird was taken out by a pitch in bottom of the third inning.

Jon Maciel was pitching for the Whitecaps and Josh Vanmeter was up to bat when this unfortunate incident took place.

If you didn’t catch it at first glance there is a slo-mo version at the 1:20 mark.

This is obviously nothing like the time Randy Johnson hit a bird with a pitch.

This isn’t the first time the TinCaps had a video go viral as they had a sprinkler erupt during a game earlier this season.
