2 Mid-Michigan Toddlers Drown In Pond

HAMILTON TOWNSHIP, Mich. (AP) – Authorities say two toddlers have drowned in a Michigan pond.

According to a news release from the Gratiot County sheriff’s office, the boys were pronounced dead at the scene Thursday.

Deputies and rescue crews were called to a home in Hamilton Township near the mid-Michigan community of Ashley. They were asked to help find two missing toddlers.

The sheriff’s department says deputies found the boys in a backyard pond.

The Morning Sun of Mount Pleasant says sheriff’s officials have not released the names of the children, their parents or the relationship between the boys.

The home is about 30 miles north of Lansing and 90 miles northwest of Detroit.
