Missing 90-Year-Old With Alzheimer’s Disease Found Safe

ROYAL OAK (WWJ) – Police say a 90-year-old man who went missing in Oakland County on Monday has been found safe and sound.

Royal Oak police say Henry Peters, who suffers from Alzheimer’s disease, was reported missing after he drove away from his residence in a silver, four-door 2009 Dodge Caliber and never returned.

Police put out an alert and started searching for Peters, who was eventually found Tuesday morning after his car ran out of gas in Bloomfield Hills. Police say Peters’ car stopped on Woodward Avenue just south of Square Lake Road, where a motorist noticed the elderly man and called 911.

Police say Peters is in good health and has been reunited with family members.
