Go Back To The Moon With Buzz Aldrin

SOUTHFIELD (CBS Detroit) - Three astronauts left Earth 45 years ago today on one of mankind's greatest adventures - a mission to land .
Now, one of the Apollo 11 astronauts is taking social media users back to the moon by launching the #Apollo45 campaign to celebrate the mission and the July 20 moon landing.
Buzz Aldrin announced the effort in YouTube video by asking people to share their memories of where they were the lunar module landed on the moon.
The video includes elected officials and entertainers sharing their memories about the mission, and how Apollo inspired them in their careers.
Aldrin also shared his hopes for the space program.
"I spend most of my time traveling the country and the world to remind people what NASA and our space program has accomplished, and what is still in our future at Mars," said Aldrin, who considers himself a "global statesman for space." "I feel we need to remind the world about the Apollo missions and that we can still do impossible things."
He stated that he, and members of the mission, missed the celebrations of their landing because they were "out-of-town," but he wants social media users of all ages to share their experiences on Facebook , Twitter and Google+ of where they were on July 20,1969.
