Boyfriend In Hospital After Allegedly Setting Fire To Ex-Girlfriend’s House

HIGHLAND TOWNSHIP (AP) – Highland Township police say a man allegedly set fire to his ex-girlfriend’s house. Deputies say they got a call from the 31-year-old woman saying she was afraid of her ex-boyfriend.

Police got in contact with the 37-year-old man who told them he didn’t want to live any more and wanted to burn the house down.

Early Saturday morning, deputies responded to a call to the woman’s home — and saw the man leaving the trailer with burns on his arms. He was treated for burns and smoke inhalation.

According to the Oakland Press deputies report that the man poured gasoline into a garbage can within the home and then lit it.

The suspect is still at the hospital while the Oakland County Prosecutor reviews a warrant request.
