Body Of Missing Man Found In Lake Fenton

FENTON TWP. (WWJ/AP) - The body of a 61-year-old man has been found in Lake Fenton in southern Genesee County.

Family members say the body of James Lehmkuhle was found around 12:30 p.m. Thursday.

Lehmkuhle, an angler who was very familiar with the lake, disappeared Tuesday after he failed to return home from fishing. His insulin supplies, along with his cell phone and wallet, were found that night in his boat, which was not running.

Authorities had closed the lake to the public while they searched for Lehmkuhle, who was eventually discovered with the aid of sonar equipment.

The cause of his death remains undetermined.

Lehmkuhle lived in Flushing, about 20 miles north of Lake Fenton.
