DEARBORN (WWJ) – There’s a reward offered for the man police believe is behind a string of bank robberies around 13 Metro Detroit communities. Crime Stoppers says they’ll put in $1,000 – which they’ll double if you call by midnight Tuesday – and various banks are chipping in another $10,000.
“I’m sure that somebody knows him,” said Haddad, “we want some results by midnight tonight.”
Haddad says the man robbed a Charter One branch on Michigan Ave. on May 31; a Comerica Bank branch on Warren Ave. on June 20; and a Chase Bank branch on Wyoming Ave. on July 16.
In all three cases, the suspect fled with an undisclosed amount of cash in an awaiting vehicle.
The suspect has been described as a black male (medium complexion) in his 30’s, approximately 6 feet to 6 feet, 2 inches tall, average build, and approximately 180 lbs. In several incidents the suspect is wearing a baseball hat and sunglasses.
