No limit Texas hold ’em was the rage on ESPN a few years back. Recently it hasn’t had the appeal it once did, but ESPN still airs the World Series of Poker.
Tuesday night, ESPN aired arguably the worst bad beat you will ever see in poker.
The two players in the hand were Connor Drinan and Cary Katz. They both raised the pot and eventually Connor Drinan and Cary Katz went all-in. The only one facing elimination was Drinan.
I forgot to mention it cost these players $1 million to enter the event — which makes this beat a little worse. Both players turned up pocket aces. The only way one of these players could win is if four of one suit came up and that player had that ace of that suit and made a flush.
Katz hit his heart flush and knocked out Drinan. That’s the quickest I have seen someone lose a million bucks.
