Royal Oak Police Investigating Crash That Seriously Injured Pedestrian

ROYAL OAK (CBS Detroit) Royal Oak police are looking for the public's help after a pedestrian was struck in the road at about 1 p.m. Tuesday by a vehicle traveling westbound on 11 Mile near Altadena.

The pedestrian suffered serious injury and was transported to William Beaumont Hospital by the Royal Oak Fire Department.

The vehicle, a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix, was driven by a 20-year-old woman who lives in Royal Oak.

The westbound lanes of E. Eleven Mile and one lane of eastbound E. Eleven Mile, between Alexander and Altadena, are closed Tuesday afternoon and will stay closed until the accident investigation is completed, police said.

Alcohol does not appear to be a factor in the accident.
