Being a pro athlete has to be the best job in the world — no matter what the sport. You are doing what you love and getting paid for it, what else could be better?

But the days after a playing career have to be the toughest on the athlete. Not knowing what to do next has to be brutal, and in former Lions QB Scott Mitchell’s case it looks like he was eating a little bit more than normal. Maybe it was just caused by the fact he wasn’t working out as much as he did while playing in the NFL.

Mitchell is a contestant on the upcoming season of “The Biggest Loser.”

Mitchell weighs in at 366 pounds which is up from 240 pounds that he is listed at on his NFL.com profile page.

Mitchell was last in the news when his former teammate Lomas Brown said he let a defender go by on purpose to sack Mitchell.

Another former Lion Damien Woody will also participate on the show.
