Reggie Bush On Johnny Manziel: 'I'm Looking Forward To Seeing What He's Going To Do'

ALLEN PARK (CBS DETROIT) - Detroit Lions running back and former college sensation Reggie Bush knows what it means to make the jump to the NFL amid an intense frenzy of hype.
As for how the most recent Heisman Trophy winner, Cleveland Browns rookie quarterback Johnny Manziel, has handled the transition to the pro game - clubbing, drinking, talking into money phones, rolling dollar bills and lounging on inflatable swans come to mind - Bush declined to answer too specifically.
"Honestly, I don't know how he's handled it because I don't know him personally and I know better than to believe what I read because I've been in this situation before," Bush said. "Hopefully he has a good group, a circle of people around him that he can trust and he can rely on to allow him to play football.
"Because without football, nothing else is going to be possible," Bush added. "You've got to take care of business first, before anything."
An electric player at Texas A&M, Manziel's off-the-field antics have made him the subject on intense scrutiny, but it is widely recognized that his status as one of the NFL's most unabashed party animals since Rob Gronkowski will only be perceived as a problem if he does not succeed on the field.
Saturday's preseason opener between the Lions and Browns will be the first test of "Johnny Football" against NFL players who are not his teammates.
Bush is just as curious as anyone else about how Manziel will fare.
"He's very exciting, one of the most exciting players to come out of college in a long time, so I'm looking forward to seeing what he's going to do on Saturday," Bush said. "It'll be fun, I think it'll be a good game, and hopefully we win."
