FORD FIELD (CBS DETROIT) - The Detroit Lions will be without superstar wide receiver Calvin Johnson, starting defensive end Ziggy Ansah and rookie wide receiver TJ Jones for Saturday's preseason opener against the Cleveland Browns.

Johnson, who had surgery on a finger and on a knee in the offseason, has been monitored closely by new Lions head coach Jim Caldwell, who said last week that once players get close to age 30 the team tries to give them as much rest as possible to reduce the wear and tear on their bodies. Johnson missed two games for injury last season.

Ansah and Jones have both been on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list since the beginning of training camp.

Kris Durham will start in place of Johnson, and Devin Taylor will start in place of Ansah.
