Ziggy Ansah Taken Off PUP List

CBS DETROIT - The Detroit Lions placed defensive end Ziggy Ansah on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list at the start of training camp, and Tuesday they took him off the list.

Ansah underwent surgery on his shoulder this offseason. He missed two games in the 2013 season, when he had eight sacks and two forced fumbles as a rookie. Ansah is expected to be an integral part of what the Lions hope is an improved defense.

The Lions bumbled to a 7-9 finish last season, failing to take advantage of a kneecapped NFC North - two of the other three teams in the division were missing their starting quarterbacks for significant stretches - and missing the playoffs.
