3 Suspects Sought In Southfield Jewelry Store Smash And Grab

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) - Police are searching for three suspects in connection with a smash and grab theft at a jewelry store in Southfield.

Officials say two men entered Swiss Jewelers and one of the men took a hammer to smash the glass of a display case. Both suspects then grabbed jewelry from the display case and then fled the store.

As the suspect with the hammer was fleeing, the jewelry store clerk attempted to stop him but he threatened the clerk with the hammer and ran out of the store along with suspect number two.

The store clerk was not injured.

A third suspect is believed to have acted as a lookout.

Description of Suspect Number 1: Black male, 17-25 years of age, wearing a white tee-shirt with "Fresh To Death" written on the front, red and blue baseball hat, light-colored blue jeans, black and white Nike shoes and white gloves. Suspect number 1 was armed with a hammer.

Description of Suspect Number 2: Black male, 17-25 years of age, wearing a gray hoodie with dark-colored sleeves with "Nautica" written on the front, dark-colored jeans, white and black Nike shoes , white gloves.

Description of Suspect Number 3: Black male, 17-25 years of age, short hair, wearing a green shirt with a collar, khaki pants, white shoes.

The suspects escaped with an undisclosed amount of jewelry.
