In case you missed Sunday night’s MTV Video Music Awards, here are some highlights.
She’s shrugging off her wardrobe malfunction. During her performance with Ariana Grande and Jessie J, Nicki Minaj was awkwardly clutching the front of her dress for the entire song to keep her upper front from being exposed. She tells Us Weekly, “We ran out of time getting the dress zipped up.” Okay, we’ll believe that.
Speaking of Nicki Minaj, the snake that bit a dancer during a VMA rehearsal for Minaj’s “Anaconda” performance was not used in Sunday’s show. But it did get mentioned during Taylor Swift’s song and dance. When she got to the top of a platform on the stage — she stopped her performance to declare she wasn’t going to jump off into the arms of her male dancers.

When Miley Cyrus won Video of the Year, she sent her guest named Jesse to accept the moon man trophy on behalf of “the 1.6 million runaways and homeless youth in the United States who are starving, lost and scared for their lives right now. I know this because I’m one of those people.”
So what’s the reason behind Cyrus’s decision this year? She tells Ryan Seacrest that last year’s scandalous duet with Robin Thicke made her realize that she needed to use her fame for the greater good.
