Man Found Fatally Shot Under Freeway Underpass

SOUTHFIELD (WWJ) – Police are investigating after a man was found dead under a freeway underpass.

According to Southfield police, officers were dispatched to the 9 Mile Road bridge underpass at Southfield and Northwestern, Tuesday afternoon, on a call about a “subject down.”

That’s where officers found a black male, around 55-year-old, dead of an apparent gunshot wound.

A medical examiner and investigators were called to the scene and police told WWJ Newsradio 950 the incident was being investigated as a homicide.

The victim was not immediately identified and no further description was provided.
