Teen Wounded In Shooting Outside Majestic Theatre In Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - Police are searching for the gunman who opened fire outside of a social function in midtown Detroit, injuring a 16-year-old boy.

The shooting happened just before 5 a.m. Tuesday at the Majestic Theatre on Woodward Avenue near Alexandrine Street.

According to police, the teen was outside of the theater talking with friends when he heard a gunshot and noticed his hand bleeding. The teen was taken to the hospital and is expected to recover. No other injuries were reported.

Police are trying to track down the gunman, but were not immediately able to provide a description.

It's unclear if the teen was targeted or if this was a random shooting.
