Ypsilanti Woman Awakens To Find Half-Naked Man In Her Bed

YPSILANTI (WWJ) - Ypsilanti police have arrested a man in connection with an alleged home invasion and sexual assault.

According to police, a woman called 911 to report she woke up, early Tuesday morning at her home on Pearl Street near Congress and Hamilton, to find a half-naked man with her in her bed.

She screamed, police said, sending the man fleeing from the home.

Ypsilanti police were able to catch up with the pants-less suspect a short time later. He was taken into custody at the Washtenaw County Jail where he remained Wednesday afternoon.

Police, who believe the suspect got into the woman's home by breaking a window, did not go into detail as to what physical contact there might have been between the woman and the suspect.

The case was turned over to the Washtenaw County Prosecutor's Office, and the suspect was scheduled to be arraigned on Thursday. Police told WWJ Newsradio 950 that his name would be released at that time.

This break-in was one of four home invasions in Ypsilanti on Tuesday, according to a report by The Ann Arbor News.
