The prep football season begins this weekend with the 10th annual Prep Kickoff Classic at Wayne State University. One of the featured games has Detroit Cass Tech taking on Oak Park. Kick off is 7 p.m. Friday.

Cass Tech running back Mike Weber recently committed to the University of Michigan and will be one of the focal point of the prep season. He is not only one of the top running backs in the country but he was highly recruited, turning down offers from Ohio State and Michigan State.

Why did he chose Michigan? It seems as if new offensive coordinator Doug Nussmeier played a significant role in luring him to Ann Arbor for the 2015 season.
For more details on the recruiting process and on the upcoming season listen to my interview with Weber.
