Blaze Rips Through Apartment Complex Destroying 10 Units, Displacing Numerous Families

PONTIAC (WWJ) – Fire crews were busy, battling a blaze at the Bloomfield on the River Apartment complex near Telegraph Road and Orchard Lake Road on Pontiac’s west side.

Gary Krupczak is with the American Red Cross. He says it was a fairly large fire at the two-story building:

“With a fire that size and 10 units destroyed the possibility of power being shut off to the entire building there could be a sizeable amount of people displaced,” said Krupczak.

The apartment building has about 25 units, and Krupczak says at least ten units were damaged or destroyed in the fire. No word on injuries, or cause of the fire. The Red Cross is helping the displaced residents, with temporary housing.
