ALLEN PARK (CBS DETROIT) - Detroit Lions starting safety James Ihedigbo participated in the portion of practice open to media Friday.
After listing Ihedigbo on the injury report Thursday, coaches would not elaborate on his status or the probability of him playing in the team's season opener on Monday Night Football, but it seemed an encouraging sign that Ihedigbo went through drills with a helmet on Friday afternoon.
Thursday, Ihedigbo was listed as not participating in practice because of neck and knee injuries.
Ihedigbo joined the Lions as a free agent this offseason and is expected to start opposite Glover Quin. Ihedigbo is entering his seventh NFL season and has played all 16 games each of the last three years.
