Traffic Alert: Weekend Road Work

DETROIT (WWJ) - It's the weekend again which means it's time for construction crews to hit the roads.

The following road work projects have been announced by MDOT. As always, some of this work may be postponed due to weather.

I-275:

In Oakland County, south M-5 ramp to south I-275 will have two lanes closed from 9 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday for road work.

In Wayne County, north I-275 ramp to east I-96 and west M-14 will be closed from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work. Also, Schoolcraft Road ramp (at Newburgh Road) to I-96/M-14 will close.

In Wayne County, south I-275 ramp to east I-96 is closed from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for road work.

I-96:

In Wayne County, west Schoolcraft Road ramp to west I-96 ramp is closed from 5 a.m. Saturday to 5 a.m. Monday for construction.

In Oakland County, east I-96 from the county line to Novi Road will have two lanes closed nightly from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. through 5 a.m. Friday, 9/19 for road work.

I-75:

In Oakland County, north I-75 between Wattles Road and Long Lake Road will have the left lane blocked from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. both Saturday and Sunday for maintenance work.

I-696:

In Oakland County, east and west I-696 between M-39 (Southfield Fwy) and I-75 will have a moving left-lane closure from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday for lighting work.

In Oakland County, east I-696 from Greenfield Road to Coolidge Hwy will have the left lane closed from 7 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday for maintenance work. The west I-696 ramp to and from Greenfield Road will be closed, too.

In Oakland County, west I-696 ramp from Coolidge Hwy will be closed from 7 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday for maintenance.

M-10:

In Oakland County, north M-10 ramp to south US-24 (Telegraph Road) will be closed from 9 a.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday, 9/15 for bridge maintenance.

M-3: (Gratiot Avenue)

In Wayne County, south M-3 (Gratiot Ave) from I-94 to M-102 (8 Mile Road) will have two lanes closed from 7 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Sunday for road work.

M-39: (Southfield Fwy)

In Wayne County, north M-39 to east and west US-12 (Michigan Ave) will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for sign work.

In Wayne/Oakland County, north M-39 ramp to M-102 (8 Mile Road) will be closed from 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. Saturday for sign work.

M-5:

In Oakland County, south M-5 from 14 Mile to 13 Mile roads will have two lanes closed from 7 a.m. Saturday to 7 p.m. Sunday for maintenance.

M-59:

In Macomb County, east and west M-59 between Elizabeth Lake Road and US-24 (Telegraph Road) will have one lane closed from 8 p.m. Friday to 6 a.m. Monday for road work.

M-53: (Van Dyke Ave)

In Macomb County, north and south M-53 at 31 Mile Road will have one lane closed from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. through Sunday, 9/7 for bridge maintenance.

US-24: (Telegraph Road)

In Oakland County, north US-24 (Telegraph Road) at M-5 (Grand River Avenue) will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for sign work.

In Wayne/Oakland County, north US-24 (Telegraph Road) at M-102 (8 Mile Rd) will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for sign work.

In Wayne County, south US-24 (Telegraph) at I-94 will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for sign work.

In Wayne County, south US-24 (Telegraph) at Ecorse Road will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for sign work.

US-12: (Michigan Ave)

In Wayne County, east US-12 (Michigan Avenue) ramp to north M-39 will be closed from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. for maintenance.

I-69:

In St. Clair County, west I-69 from the I-69 Business Loop to Wadhams Road will be closed from 12 a.m. to 5 a.m. Saturday and Sunday for bridge beam placement.

M-19:

In St. Clair County, north and south M-19 (Main Street) between Division Road and Madison Street will be closed from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. Friday for local event.

In St. Clair County, north and south M-19 (Main Street) between Howard to Madison streets will be closed from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. Saturday and 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Sunday for local events.

Local Lanes:

In Oakland County, south Beck Road ramp to west M-14 and north Beck Road ramp to east M-14 will have one lane closed from 12 p.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday for sign work.

In Oakland County, east Grand River Avenue, west of Drake Road will have the right lane closed from 7 a.m. Saturday to 5 p.m. Sunday for utility work.

In Macomb County, east and west 12 Mile Road at M-53 will have one lane closed from 6 a.m. Saturday to 6 a.m. Sunday for road work.

Beginning the week of Monday, Sept. 8: 

In Oakland County, north and south US-24 (Telegraph Rd) between Long Lake and Square Lake roads will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Friday for construction.

In Oakland County, north and south US-24 (Telegraph Rd) between Elizabeth Lake Rd and US-24 (Dixie Hwy) will have one lane closed from 9 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Friday for sign work.

In Macomb County, east and west I-696 Service Drives between Dequindre Road and M-3 (Gratiot Ave) will have intermittent lane closures from 9 a.m. Monday to 3 p.m. Sunday for utility work.
