Giants-Tigers Preview: Price Looking For Payback
(AP) -- After a late night in Detroit, pitchers would appear to have the advantage with a quick turnaround between games.
Even if that wasn't the case, though, the hitters would seem to be in for a tough challenge based on Saturday's pitching matchup.
Just over 12 hours after wrapping up the series opener, San Francisco's Madison Bumgarner and the Tigers' David Price square off as the two weary playoff hopefuls meet.
The Tigers (77-64) fell two games behind AL Central-leading Kansas City, and are also a half-game back of Seattle for the second wild card.
The Giants, who trail Los Angeles by two games in the NL West and own a three-game lead over Milwaukee for the first wild card, are batting .370 while averaging 8.9 runs over their last seven games.
