Big Brother Proposal: Season 16 Episode 33 Recap

We finally heard and saw the announcement of something that was a long time coming, Jeff Schroeder proposing to Jordan Lloyd. But that was only a mere part of last night's episode. There was a twist shown to the houseguests and new HOH crowned. It seems as though Victoria is the clear target for this week. But if Derrick has any say in how this week will end it will be either Frankie or Caleb that gets the boot. With a countdown being shown to the houseguests for pressing the button for "BBRewind," it's time to recap last night's episode.

Conspiracy Theories

I'm surprised we didn't see more of what was happening behind the scenes with Derrick's short-lived HOH since it was during the double eviction. However what we did see was the aftermath of Christine's eviction and the houseguests hearing the live studio audiences "boos" to Christine. Which Frankie clearly took it as Christine was not liked and it was the right choice. It could easily be that Christine shouldn't have been voted out and that they were "booing" to the houseguests. But all the houseguests could talk about was how bad of a game Christine must have played and that she was the right choice to go. Especially since her flirtmance with Cody was shown and the other houseguests assumed Christine was in love with Cody. While Cody defends he was only being a friend and never taking it too far. The real victim here is Christine because she's not in the house to defend her actions to the other houseguests and it will be a surprise for some other houseguests who are still in the house who think they are adored by America when in reality America could care less.

Another conspiracy theory that happened during last night's episode was the "BB Rewind," button appearing to the houseguests. All the houseguests knew they should press the button, but also fear what the repercussions would be fore doing so. Caleb thought it would be a Pandora's box, Derrick thought it was a punishment and Frankie and Cody just wanted to press the button. I really like this twist "BB Rewind," because it really forced the remaining houseguests to decide if they should press it or not. What was surprising was they did it as a group as oppose to pressing it individually. But since this season has been a majority type of game they all decided to press the button as a group and did so after the HOH competition.

Frankie wins HOH

Speaking of HOH competition, it was a matter of balance and patience to win the HOH for the week. Victoria was clearly out of the running as she kept falling off and her items were falling off the shovel. Cody had started making a steady pace but a misstep caused him to start over. It was neck and neck between Frankie and Caleb, but a wrong move from Caleb, gave Frankie a considerable lead from Cody and having Caleb start over again. In the end it was Frankie who came out victorious. Frankie mentions that even though he's safe and that the target was to be Victoria, he had no issues with also targeting another player within his own alliance as they tried to backdoor him a week ago.

I'm impressed at how competitive Frankie has been. He's right up there with Caleb on the competition wins. I'm also surprised that Frankie didn't take the opportunity to put Derrick up as a nomination because he has yet to go on the block this whole season. Instead going with the safe choices of Victoria and Cody. Both members of Team America are doing well, but it's still missing its heart, which is Donny. I look forward to seeing jury house footage and seeing America's Favorite Groundskeeper again.

Jeff's Proposes to Jordan

So a day passed in the Big Brother house and while the houseguests were lounging in the house, they hear the doorbell ring. I was laughing when Derrick was trying to figure out whether it was a surprise or a part of the twist with pressing the button. The front door opens and enters Big Brother alumni from seasons 11 and 13, Jeff & Jordan. What Jordan thought was to surprise the houseguests with a luxury competition, it was actually an elaborate set up from Jeff to propose to Jordan. Which is fitting since the couple had met on the show and it was coming full circle. While the houseguests were getting prepared for the faux competition, we see Jeff & Jordan enter the backyard which is decorated very romantically. Jordan wanting to prepare as host for the competition was caught off guard when Jeff announced they weren't really there for a competition. A very surprised Jordan was speechless and couldn't believe what was going on. A nervous Jeff got on one knee and asked for Jordan's hand in marriage. Luckily Jordan said yes and was greeted with friends, family as well as her dog Maggie. Then the houseguests come outside with a cake and drinks to commemorate the occasion. Special guest up and coming country music star Brett Eldredge sang for the couple as we were shown a montage of the budding relationship of "JeJo," during their time in the house and the last five years. However the real question remains, will we see a Big Brother Wedding next season? Also how will Brenchel try and top this? A very touching moment and Big Brother first.

My prediction for POV

So with the "BBRewind," activated it is kind of useless to predict POV as whoever is the winner will be, their victory will be voided. Since everyone is eligible to compete it's all up for grabs. But I wouldn't be surprised if Derrick tries to win it and save a nominee. With the house not wanting to make big moves whoever wins the POV and isn't nominated will probably opt into not using it. Again, POV that happens won't matter until Wednesday's live eviction episode.

Tune in tomorrow, yes tomorrow not Wednesday, but Tuesday at 8pm to see who wins the POV and if they use it to save either Cody or Victoria. But again I repeat it won't matter since all five houseguests have decided to press the "BBRewind," button which resets the game this week and nothing will matter until the night of live eviction on Wednesday. However I do look forward in seeing how Derrick and Frankie will do with the next Team America mission without Donny. I can't wait for Wednesday's live show to see all the action take place! But we have to get through tomorrow's episode before then. Congratulations to Jeff & Jordan with their engagement! Here's hoping we see a Big Brother Wedding as well as another season!
