Greg Monroe Allegedly Urinated On Himself After Traffic Stop

Last week it was announced that Greg Monroe would be serving a two game suspension for driving while impaired.

Wednesday evening, details about that arrest were made available to the public via a police report from the Huntington Woods Police Department.

According to MLive.com, Monroe "urinated on himself during the booking process."

Monroe was pulled over on Feb. 13, 2014, in a 2007 Pontiac G6 that was registered to his passenger. Police stopped Monroe at 1:50 a.m. and the station sobriety test was given at 3:20 a.m. Monroe blew a .089, the report says, while the Michigan legal limit is .08. When tested at the police station, Monroe also allegedly registered a .09 and a .1.

"I'm just trying not to be in the newspaper," Monroe allegedly told the police.

Monroe did fail his field sobriety test, police said, as he missed a letter in the alphabet and was "swaying" as he counted backwards from 100-78.

The Pistons signed Greg Monroe to a qualifying offer later week for $5.5 million for the 2014-15 season.

Monroe apologized for his mistake on Tuesday saying, "I take full responsibility for my actions and made a regrettable mistake," Monroe stated in the release. "I apologize to my family, the Pistons' organization, my teammates and fans. I will learn from this and continue my work to be a positive influence in the community."
