This week on Michigan Matters everyone knows how important the auto industry is to Michigan, but did you know that Ford along with Chrysler and GM helped keep the world safe for democracy through their efforts during World War II? We're going to talk about it with AJ Baime, author of a new book.

Keeping the focus on innovation we sit down with two entrepreneurs, Kevin Shinn of Altair, and Charlie Wollborg with TEDxDetroit.

Then we will find out what one organization is doing to encourage women to get involved in science and math. Maru Flores, president of the MCWT who is also global manufacturing and MP&L Development Services manager at Ford and Charlotte Decker, who is management consultant at Data Consulting Group.
