2 Students Using Synthetic Drug 'Cloud Nine' Hospitalized

DETROIT (WWJ/AP) - Two students at John Glenn High School in Westland were hospitalized after taking the synthetic drug Cloud Nine.

The news follows the hospitalization of four students from Canton from the drug that can cause hallucinations and paranoia.

It's unclear what symptoms the John Glenn students experienced. They've been released from the hospital.

A 15-year-old student believed to have sold them the drug was arrested and released to the custody of his parents.

Police believe they know where the student got the drug. Its sale is not illegal.

Cloud Nine is reportedly a synthetic form of cocaine or methamphetamine. The substance can cause hallucinations, delusions and suicidal thoughts.
