Report: Suh Likely To Leave Detroit After Season, Interested In New York

CBS DETROIT - Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh will likely leave Detroit when he becomes a free agent this offseason, and he likes the idea of playing in New York, according to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter.

"If he were to take his talents to New York, either to the Jets or Giants, Suh knows how much it would mean for his brand and his profile," Schefter wrote, "and it is something that if he hits the free-agent market this winter, when his contract is up, he will explore."

A three-time Pro Bowler, Suh will be a highly coveted free agent despite the fact his statistics have not been particularly stellar recently. Frequent double-teams usually prevent him from getting all the way to quarterbacks, but the attention he commands generally frees up his fellow linemen to make plays.

Suh is expected to sign a monster contract, and since the Lions already have serious money wrapped up in quarterback Matthew Stafford and wide receiver Calvin Johnson, they may not want to shell out a similarly dramatic amount for Suh.

More importantly, however, it sounds like Suh may not want to stay with the Lions anyway.
