2014 Detroit Oktoberfest Celebrates Community Arts & Music

October. For some, it's the best month of the year – the start of fall, the weather is cooler and the leaves on the trees are prettier than ever, a national countdown to Halloween happens right as the calendar turns over to the 1st…some of the best things happen in October. Like, for instance, Detroit Oktoberfest – a community arts benefit concert.

The third annual Detroit Oktoberfest, presented by Black Bottom Brew Club, will take place on October 4th, from 5pm to 1am at The Artist Village in downtown Detroit. The event is more than just people drinking delicious beer (for those who are of age!), it's a cultural celebration of the art and music in Detroit – and of course, Detroit home-brewed beer.

The event will also benefit local artists, and will be a showcase for local home brewers to present the beers they have been slowly crafting for the past several months. Food will be provided by Motor City Java & Tea House…and the beer list is nothing short of impressive, featuring all Detroit brews: Mocktoberfest, Motor City H'optimism IPA, Hard Hustle Detroit Dark Ale, Dancing Elephant II (Witbier/Belgian Pale Ale), Brave Ulysses, and Badonka Dunkel'weizen.

There will be artwork displayed from more than 10 local artists and live music all night long. A true eclectic mix of musicians, the sounds range from funk to electronic to pop to rock. Check out the line-up…
