Derek Jeter has already launched a brand new project since retiring from baseball last week.

The Captain has created a website called "The Players' Tribune. " It will be a revolutionary media experience for fans to get to know athletes on a more personal level.

Jeter says, "I do think fans deserve more than 'no comments' or 'I don't knows.' Those simple answers have always stemmed from a genuine concern that any statement, any opinion or detail, might be distorted."

He believes this website will be a great avenue for athletes to accurately express their thoughts and emotions to the media.

Jeter went on to say, "I'm in the process of building a place where athletes have the tools they need to share what they really think and feel. We want to have a way to connect directly with our fans, with no filter."

Over the course of the next few months, a host of notable athletes will be joining the project and featured on The Players' Tribune.

Jeter's objective is to ultimately connect fans to their favorite athletes and revolutionize news sharing:

"I am working with other athletes, with editors and with producers to create a platform that gives us a chance to say what's on our minds. My goal is for the site to ultimately transform how athletes and newsmakers share information, bringing fans closer than ever to the games they love.
