Port Huron Woman Convicted Of Killing Ex-Boyfriend

PORT HURON (AP) - A Port Huron woman has been found guilty of killing her former boyfriend.

The jury returned its verdict against Judy Higley-Zuehlke on Friday. It found the 44-year-old defendant guilty of second-degree murder in the death of John Allen.

The Times Herald says Higley-Zuehlke also was convicted of lying to a peace officer during a violent crime investigation, concealing the death of an individual, and tampering with evidence.

Allen's body was found at his Port Huron home Feb. 3.

Medical examiner Dr. Daniel Spitz says the cause of Allen's death was strangulation with contributory factors of a puncture wound to the ear and blunt force trauma injuries to the head.

Higley-Zuehlke is to be sentenced Nov. 6.
