Chilly, Damp Weekend In Metro Detroit

DETROIT (WWJ) - If you woke up Saturday morning thinking "It's so cold in the D" — forecasters say you'll pretty much have that thought all weekend long.

A cold weather system is bearing down on the Midwest, bringing a blast of brisk air that's dropping temperatures some 20 to 30 degrees lower than usual for this time of year.

Metro Detroit saw high temperatures Saturday around 50 degrees -- but with heavy cloud cover and chilly winds, those "real feel" temperatures were more in the 30 or 40 degree range, with chilly scattered showers throughout the day.

Forecasters said that overnight Saturday, conditions would hold pretty steady with a shower in spots and low temperatures around 40 degrees.

Sunday's weather will be nearly identical, but with a little more sun and highs around 54 degrees.

Saturday: Rather cloudy, windy and colder with a brief shower or two. Winds WSW at 15 to 25 mph. Chance of rain 50%. High 51F.
Saturday Night: Rather cloudy, breezy and chilly with a stray shower.  Winds WSW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 30%. Low 40F.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy, breezy and cool with a passing shower. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. High 54F.
Sunday Night: Cloudy early with partial clearing expected late. Winds SSW at 10 to 15 mph. Low 44F.

Monday: Cloudy and windy with a couple of showers. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. High 60F.
Monday Night: Partly cloudy skies early followed by mostly cloudy skies and a few showers later at night. Winds SW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 30%. Low 49F.

Tuesday: Partly cloudy in the morning. Increasing clouds with periods of showers later in the day. Winds SW at 10 to 20 mph. Chance of rain 40%. High 65F.
Tuesday Night: Showers in the evening, then partly cloudy overnight. Winds WSW at 10 to 15 mph. Chance of rain 40%. Low 47F.

Wednesday: Partly sunny. Winds W at 10 to 20 mph. High 62F.
Wednesday Night: Mainly clear. Winds W at 5 to 10 mph. Low 44F.
