Oakland County Bar Association To Host Free Legal Aid Clinic Series

BLOOMFIELD HILLS (WWJ) -- Not everyone can afford to hire an attorney to answer their legal questions. That's why the Oakland County Bar Association -- in partnership with Oakland County Youth Assistance -- will host three free Legal Aid Clinics throughout Oakland County during October.

The first will be held on October 7 at the Ferndale Public Library, with additional clinics on October 14 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Lake Orion and on October 20 at the Southfield Public Library. All clinics will run from 4:30 p.m. through 7:00 p.m.

During these free clinics, attorneys and legal aid providers will be on site to provide basic legal information, as well as brief advice and counsel in the areas of juvenile, family, probate, criminal, general civil and landlord/tenant matters.

Oakland County residents with legal questions are urged to attend these clinics and speak with an attorney volunteer or a representative from Legal Aid and Defender Association, Lakeshore Legal Aid or the Family Law Assistance Project.

To learn more about the clinics or to RSVP, contact the OCBA at 248-334-3400. More information can be found at the organization's website.
