Jury selection begins Monday in Ann Arbor in the trial of 22-year-old Dajeon Franklin, who authorities say fired the shot that killed Paul DeWolf. Co-defendants Joei Jordan and Shaquille Jones stand trial Jan. 14, reports the Ann Arbor News.

All three face charges of open murder and home invasion. The 25-year-old DeWolf was killed in July 2013.

DeWolf was found dead July 24 in his apartment at the Phi Rho Sigma medical fraternity house on North Ingalls Street. The 25-year-old died from a gunshot wound to the neck.

DeWolf, who would have graduated this past May, was a native of Schoolcraft in southwestern Michigan and a graduate of Grand Valley State University. He was attending medical school on an Air Force scholarship and held the rank of second lieutenant.
