School Buses Involved, 2 Hurt, In I-696 Accident

WARREN (WWJ) - Two people, including a high school student on a school bus, were hurt Tuesday in a three-vehicle accident.

Police Commissioner Jere Green says two school buses coming from Michigan Collegiate High School were following one another southbound along Mound Road at I-696  in Warren when a driver apparently cut the first bus off.

"When they cut across the lane they hit the first bus; the first bus hit the brakes, and the second bus hit the first bus in the back," said Green.

Police said driver had minor injuries, while one student was taken by fire officials for treatment of minor bruises.

It was not immediately clear if the driver who allegedly caused the crash would face charges.

No names were released.
