Bush Says Ankle Injury Not Severe [VIDEO]

ALLEN PARK (CBS DETROIT) - The Detroit Lions running game relied quite heavily on one individual Sunday. With Joique Bell and Theo Riddick both inactive against the Buffalo Bills because of injury, Reggie Bush and George Winn were the only running backs available, and Bush ended up missing much of the game because of an ankle injury.

Winn spent last year on various practice squads and signed with the Lions recently after originally being cut by the team before the start of the regular season.

Predictably, with one player - and a relatively inexperienced one at that - shouldering the load, the Lions did not run the ball as well as they would have liked against Buffalo.

This Sunday, Winn might have some more help.

"Ankle feels good," Bush said. "It's nothing severe. I feel like - I'm going to prepare this week as though I'm playing. I'm going to prepare this week as I have every week, but I'm going to take, obviously, the necessary precautions to make sure that I'm doing it the right way and I'm smart about it. I don't want to have any setbacks, and so we're going to just make the best decision at the end of the week, and we'll see where we're at."

Stoney, Bill and Sara's full interview will Bush will air Thursday morning on 97.1 The Ticket.
