DMC Heart Hospital Hosts 'Heart Heroes' Event With Free Health Screenings

We know exercise is good for our health but for those with heart conditions, it can be more of a challenge.

Thanks to a new program -- you don't have to be sitting on the sidelines anymore.

The DMC Heart Hospital offers special support for those with heart conditions who want a more active lifestyle, whether that's running a 5K or doing some other athletic activity.

"We have supervised exercise programs so people can start their exercise program under direct supervision of a physician," DMC Heart Hospital cardiologist Amir Kaki told WWJ's Dr.  Deanna Lites.

Wednesday from 5 to 7 p.m., the DMC Heart Hospital will offer free health screenings, provide a tour of the new facility and host a relaxed group run.

The DMC Heart Hospital is located at 311 Mack Avenue in Detroit.
