Novi Hotel Offers Workspace On Demand

By Edward Cardenas

NOVI (CBS Detroit) - The Baronette Renaissance Hotel in Novi has joined a growing national trend of offering common areas for meetings.

These hotels are offering the meeting space, along with Wi-Fi and catering options, to professionals who want to meet for everything from interviews to meetings in a more business-like setting than a coffee shop.

"We have a lot of gray space in the hotel, but sometimes it is not utilized during the day," said Sora Chan, director of sales for the Baronette. "It is a great opportunity to welcome in people who may not be staying in our hotel to see the great experience of what the hotel can offer."

The Baronette has partnered with LiquidSpace and launched the Workspace On Demand, service wherein customers can book reserve an offsite meeting space in the hotel.

Having a workplace on the go is a growing trend in Michigan and across the country. According to LiquidSpace, the company offers more than 5,000 vetted, reviewed workspaces in more than 500 cities across the U.S. and Australia.

At the Baronette, the available spaces include:

  • "Corner Seating" in hotel lobby for three with a corner couch, chairs and table in the main lobby, offered complimentary,
  • "Library" in hotel lobby for eight — intimate setting allowing user to work close to one another in a larger group, offered complimentary,
  • "Maple Boardroom" private meeting room for eight — stylish, private boardroom with a permanent table to comfortably seat eight and set up for presentation, offered for $400 for a whole day, $300 for a half day.

"This is a great opportunity for anybody looking for last-minute meeting space," Chan added.

Each space offers WiFi, print, scan and copy capabilities, TV monitors, coffee and tea service, and The Toasted Oak on-site restaurant. Reservations can be made online through the LiquidSpace website.
