Woman In SUV Hits Several Cars, Flees, Spits Out Mouthful Of Pills When Caught By Police

MACOMB COUNTY (WWJ) - A 24-year-old woman is facing several charges after allegedly crashing her SUV into several cars in Macomb County before fleeing the scene.

Danielle Myslakowski was arraigned in 41B District Court Wednesday on two counts of possession of a controlled substance; assault, resisting and obstructing a police officer; operating while intoxicated with an occupant less than 16; and operating while license suspended. She was ordered jailed on a $10,000 bond and is due back in court Oct. 20.

Macomb County Sheriff Lt. John Michalke said the whole thing unfolded around 5 p.m. Monday when his office received numerous 911 calls from drivers travelling along William P. Rosso Highway near I-94 in Harrison Township, reporting that their cars were struck by a SUV which fled the scene.

One of the callers stayed on the line with dispatchers as they followed the SUV until it came to a stop in a bait-shop parking lot on Jefferson Avenue, in Chesterfield Township. Deputies arrived on the scene and located an extensively damaged 2001 GMC Yukon, driven by Myslakowski.

Michalke said there was a 3-year-old child in the back seat of the vehicle.

While trying to discuss the incident with the woman, a deputy realized that Myslakowski was apparently trying to conceal something in her mouth. Michalke said the woman refused commands and began to struggle with the deputy. When she was restrained, deputies say Myslakowski spat out 16 white tablets.

Michalke quoted witnesses as saying at one point Myslakowski was thrown out of her vehicle which continued to coast down the road. She picked herself up, ran after the SUV, jumped back in and continued driving.

"An ambulance was called to treat her because she had been injured ... she had numerous cuts and abrasions on her arms, and then our deputies searched her Yukon and found prescription bottles of methadone and then found assorted other pills," said Lt. Michalke.

The child was turned over to her father. Myslakowski was taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries and "out of concerns for her intoxication." Police said she admitted to taking valium and Adderall in addition to the methadone.
